Project Information
Scrappy Studios is the rebranded club, Game Developers of UNT. In my second year of university, I had joined the club as a member and quickly became the community manager thanks to my experience with esports event coordination. As I entered my third and fourth year I noticed a slow decline in membership as the game studies program grew and soon replaced the in class lectures that were being done. When the president at the time informed us his retirement, I took the opportunity to overhaul the clubs operation and revive it. Through my effort in my presidency I revived a dwindling count of just under 20 members to over 50-60 over the course of the semester alone.
Scrappy Studios is as close to a real commercial studio as the university would allow. Melding the real world development experience with personalized educational presentations to teach tooling and development strategies. Using a real Agile development pipeline, we pitch, prototype, refine, playtest to develop a fully polished games each semester.
